Greening Taraba Project
The Crisis: Taraba State, once a lush sanctuary, is facing an environmental emergency. Uncontrolled logging and unsustainable farming have led to:
- Extreme heat and declining rainfall
- Reduced crop yields and food insecurity
- Drying rivers and vanishing water sources
- Loss of biodiversity
But hope is growing. On the International Day of Peace, community organizer Dofa Francis will launch the Greening Taraba Project — a bold initiative to plant 500 trees across schools, churches, mosques, and neighborhoods. 🌱
This is more than reforestation. It is a movement to empower children and youth as guardians of the environment.
